A minor adjustment in the top ten is a reshuffling of the top ten in regards to #4 Alikhan Zhabrailov (RUS), #5 Givi Matcharashvili (GEO), #6 Magomedkhan Magomedov (AZE), and #8 Alikhan Ktsoev (RUS).
Matcharashvili and Magomedov were moved to #4 and #5 respectively due to their strong results in the Olympics (silver for Matcharashvili and bronze for Magomedov) and better wins at the weight then former #4 Alikhan Zhabrailov (while Zhabrailov has multiple wins over former top 5 ranked Magomed Kurbanov, his inability to break through at Russia to compete at the international level at 97 KG, see Sadulaev, Abdulrashid as the primary reason, coupled with his loss to #6 Alikhan Ktsoev (RUS) back in October at the Khadartsev Brothers Memorial, cause him to drop down to #7).
Jay Aiello (USA) returns to the 97 KG rankings at #11 for his huge win over 2024 U23 and Junior World Champion #11 Rizabek Aitmukhan (KAZ) at the Kunaev Memorial. Aiello won the Kunaev Memorial over Paris Olympian Awusayiman Habila (CHN) with Aitmukhan (KAZ) and Bekzat Urkimbay (KAZ) taking bronze.
Kilab Musayev (RUS) won the Semenov Cup over Arturo Silot Torres (CUB) with Akhmed Batayev (BUL) and #19 (92) Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (RUS) taking bronze. Arash Yoshida (JPN) won the Emperor’s Cup over Yohei Shinada (JPN) with Genki Hoki (JPN) and Takuma Tachioka (JPN) taking bronze.
