57 KG

#1 Spencer Lee won the Zagreb Open over #16 (INT) Islam Bazarganov (AZE) with #17 (INT) Azamat Tuskaev (SRB) and Roman Bravo Young (MEX) taking bronze. Also at the Zagreb Open, #5 Brandon Courtney lost in the quarterfinals to Ahora Khateri (IRI) while #5 (57) Daniel DeShazer lost in the quarterfinals to Roman Bravo Young (MEX).

#1 Spencer Lee lost to #2 (INT) Masanosuke Ono (JPN) at FloWrestling Night in America. #5 (57) Daniel DeShazer is ranked #10 at 61 KG due to losing to #4 Nathan Tomasello at FloWrestling Night in America. DeShazer’s position at #10 is also due to his loss to #9 Jax Forrest. #4 Nathan Tomasello takes the #8 spot ahead of #9 Daniel DeShazer due to his H2H win over DeShazer along with a runner-up finish at 2021 61 KG World Team Trials to #4 (61) Daton Fix. U23 National champion Max Gallagher and U23 National runner-up Stevo Poulin take the #9 and #10 spot with Tomasello and DeShazer’s departure.

61 KG

#4 Seth Gross tech falled #6 Austin DeSanto 10-0 at FloWrestling Night in America. #8 Nathan Tomasello beat #9 Daniel DeShazer 7-0 at FloWrestling Night in America. #5 Nahshon Garrett took bronze at the Zagreb Open and #10 Michael McGee lost in the quarterfinals to Giorgi Goniashvili and was eliminated from competition when Goniashvili lost in the semis. McGee takes the #10 spot in the rankings over former #4 Devan Turner because when I looked back at Turner’s justification for his spot ahead of Nahshon Garrett it was entirely due to a win over Ceyhun Allakhverdiev (AZE) that doesn’t hold up as much as Garrett’s total resume, coupled with his loss at World Team Trials in 2024 to Nasir Bailey, I made the decision to put in Michael McGee for having a better international win (2021 61 KG Senior European runner-up Andrii Dzhelep at Zagreb Open) and being more active than Nasir Bailey, who has a head to head win over Turner.

65 KG

Real Woods debuts in the international rankings at #11 and #6 domestically for beating a trio of U23 World medalists in the form of 2024 U23 World runner-up #12 Kaiji Ogino (JPN), 2017 57 KG U23 world runner-up Mikyay Salim Naim (BUL), and 2019 57 KG U23 world runner-up Adlan Askarov (KAZ) to take bronze at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament. #2 Joey McKenna took silver at the Zagreb Open to #13 (INT) Abbas Ebrahim (IRI). Evan Henderson failed to place at the Zagreb Open after a qualification round loss to Goga Otinashvili (GEO).

#8 Will Lewan takes the #1 spot at 70 KG after beating #1 James Green for bronze at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament. #1 James Green falls one spot to #2 after finishing fifth at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament with loss to #1 Will Lewan and #5 (INT) Yoshinosuke Aoyagi (JPN). #6 Yahya Thomas lost in the quarterfinals to 2024 European silver medalist #16 (INT) Akaki Kemertelidze (GEO) and failed to place after Kemertelidze lost in the semifinals to #15 (INT) Vazgen Tevanyan (ARM).

James Green also took fifth at the Zagreb Open after injury defaulting out of the semis. 74 KG

#2 (79) David Carr cut down to 74 KG where he got the biggest win of his career when he upset 2024 74 KG Olympic silver medalist #7 (INT) Daichi Takatani (JPN) at FloWrestling Night in America. Carr takes the #2 spot behind #1 Kyle Dake (USA) for his win over Takatani and the #6 spot in the international rankings for his victory over Takatani. Prior to beating Takatani, Carr began February by finishing runner-up to #5 (INT) Taimuraz Salkazanov (SVK) at the Zagreb Open. #4 Quincy Monday lost in the round of 16 at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament to Orozobek Toktomambetov (KGZ) and failed to place after Toktomambetov lost in the quarters to 2024 Olympic bronze medalist #3 (INT) Chermen Valiev (ALB).

79 KG

Rocco Welsh enters the rankings at #5 after taking bronze at the Zagreb Open, where he beat #6 Evan Wick in the quarterfinals. #4 (86) David McFadden takes the #4 spot at 79 KG upon his return to the weight due to past wins over #3 (86) Chance Marsteller, 2022 79 KG U.S. Open runner-up Vincenzo Joseph, and two-time 74 KG Final X runner-up Isaiah Martinez. McFadden made the quarterfinals of the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament where he was defeated by eventual bronze medalist Khidir Saipudinov (BRN) and eliminated from competition. #6 Evan Wick injury defaulted out of the semis of the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament to take fifth.

86 KG

#2 Zahid Valencia beat #1 (92) Trent Hidlay 5-0 at FloWrestling Night in America. #5 (97) Nate Jackson beat #6 (79) Kennedy Monday 11-7 at FloWrestling Night in America. Hidlay takes the #4 spot behind #3 Chance Marsteller, who he lost to at the 2024 Olympic Trials. #5 (97) Nate Jackson takes the #5 spot and #6 (79) Kennedy Monday takes the #6 spot. #2 Zahid Valencia took gold at the Zagreb Open while #4 Trent Hidlay and #5 Nate Jackson took bronze. #3 Chance Marsteller took gold at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament over Bolat Sakaev (KAZ).

92 KG

#1 Trent Hidlay dropped down to 86 KG where he is currently ranked fourth. #2 Michael Macchiavello is the #1. 2024 U23 National runner-up Wyatt Voelker takes the #5 spot and 2024 Junior World rep Connor Mirasola takes the #10 spot. This is mainly due to the complete drop off in depth at the weight after the top four, meaning that placers at multiple nationals must be accounted for due to the scarcity of credentialed competitors at the U.S. Open and World Team Trials. #1 Michael Macchiavello took bronze at the Zagreb Open and Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament. #3 Marcus Coleman wrestled up at 97 KG and got teched by #2 (97) Jay Aiello 12-1 at FloWrestling Night in America.

125 KG

#1 Mason Parris took silver at the Zagreb Open to #3 (INT) Amirreza Masoumi Valadi (IRI) while #2 Hayden Zillmer took bronze over #8 Trent Hillger. #1 Mason Parris notched two key domestic wins over #2 Hayden Zillmer and #8 Trent Hillger to make the finals of the Zagreb Open. #7 Jordan Wood and Demetrius Thomas both failed to place at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament; Wood losing in the round of 16 to Shamil Sharipov (BRN) and Thomas going 0-2 with losses to #7 (INT) Zelimkhan Khizriev (RUS) and Kamil Kosciolek (POL).

Pound for Pound

#13 Zahid Valencia, #14 Chance Marsteller, and #24 David Carr moved up five spots, five spots, and fourteen spots respectively to fill out #8, #9, and #10 of the top ten due to the reshuffling of the weight due to former #9 James Green’s loss at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series Tournament to unranked Will Lewan along with their respective performances in February.

Green falls eight spots to #17 while Lewan debuts at #16 in the pound for pound for his win over Green. Former #8 Nick Lee, #10 Joey McKenna were kicked out of the top ten due to having weaker domestic and international resumes than Valencia, Marsteller, and Carr.
